Travelling, journeys, working hours, leaving and coming back, leaving to never come back, looking back and saying goodbye, breathing in air of home, hugging our loved ones, crying, dreaming. Termini is all of this, and today is even something more. It is an historical architecture that changes its shape over time. It’s a passing place but also a place to live. On this topic RomaID, together with the Mercato Centrale Roma and Rufa, launched a Call to Actionto every srtist, graphic designer, illustrator and student, creating a new rendition of Termini.
We received dozens of illustrations, with the incredible enthusiasm of both internationally recognized artists and emerging young talents.
A jury of experts, presided over by Roman street artist Solo, examined carefully all the material received and has chosen the 10 best illustrations and, among them, the winners.
A few days after the contest ended, RomaID, together with its two partners and sponsors ASSIT, Insurance Agency, and Ci.effe Consulting, organized an event open to everyone at the Mercato Centrale Roma’s Spazio Fare, where street poet Decle did an amazing live painting performance and a lot of other projects dedicated both to valorize Rome and the artists present were presented.
Lastly, to the applause of the public, winners of Terminididentità were announced:
Francesco Fidani, who got the Open category prize, and Antonio Mastrogiacomo who got the Rufa category prize. The most voted illustration online was, instead, Giulio del Prete’s one. All three of them were also awarded a cash prize.
The winner for the Open category also got the opportunity to become part of RomaID official merchandising and will receive a share for every product sold with his illustration.
RomaID and Rome Marathon
RomaID beside trying to create a new visual identity for the Eternal City is trying to become an iconographic and cultural point of reference for big events all around Rome. With this goal in mind we decided to take parte in the 2018 Rome Marathon which, being an event of global relevance, has the ability to convey a positive image of the city. Rome Marathon is the most beloved and attended running event in Italy, an event that attracts every year thousands of runners from all over the world thanks to the beauty of its route and the great quality of its organization. These two realities decided to form a partnership to shape together the visual identity of an event of great relevance for its city, its citizens and for the many athletes, coming from all over the world, who train hard to cross the finish line in the Eternal City and who, starting from this year, will be able to make themselves recognizable through a new icon. In collaboration with street poet Decle, in fact, we created “Run and Live in One Breath”, both the official slogan for the Marathon and a new dedicated merchandising line.
Christmas Party at Etablì Food and Drink, in the very heart of Rome, to celebrate together the arrival of the Christmas Holiday season and formally introduce the two new illustrations created for RomaID: The Pantheon by Davide Bonazzi and Castel Sant’Angelo by Marta Pantaleo. Just for this special occasion we created a new cocktail served in our illustrated cups, Cheers with RomaIDrink!
RomaID and ChickenBroccoli, guests at the Sweat Drops Saturday event, presented together “RomaID Cinema La Dolce Vita”. An event dedicated to Theatre and Cinema at the Alcazar Live in Trastevere. During the event we witnessed the Live Painting performance of Lucamaleonte, author of RomaID’s La Dolce Vita, Precensioni Live by Alabama and ChickenBroccoli, Chiara Augenti and ErmeneGildo’s Dolce Recital and, lastly, Funk Pope’s DJ set.
RomaID participated in the 2018 Independent Artist Market, which took place inside the Villaggio Globale. A day dedicated fully to art, photography, exhibitions, visual art and murals.
